This project harnesses the power of soccer to unite communities and educate people about issues of peace. Sports are meant to bring communities together in support of the United Nations objectives for a global culture and the achievement of the United Nations SDGs for human development.
A sports tournament is not only considered a sports match, but also a ‘knowledge match,’ where young people demonstrate that they can take on an active role in society and are able to overcome difficulties they are facing in their daily life.
Our Approach
The initiative aims at developing the talents of the children, while also providing life skills training to ensure that children in rural, poor communities have the support necessary to realize their full potential and become happy, healthy, and productive members of their society, including becoming positive role models in their communities.
St.Ritah Women Association believes that by bringing together individuals and communities, it bridges cultural and ethnic divides, as well as impacts public policy through the promotion of young people’s rights of participation, play, and socialization at sports events.
