St.Ritah Women Association is currently focusing on “Advancing women’s climate Justice Solutions in Agriculture in Rwenzori sub region. St.Ritah Women Development Association focus is to address challenges of low agricultural productivity, high levels of food security and low income in both rural and urban poor communities in addition to protecting against rapid degradation of natural resources on which community livelihood depends.
Our Approach
To ensure the project effectively reaches the communities and small-scale women farmers, St.Ritah Women Association works through farmer groups, women groups at the grassroots, and schools in implementing the project. In implementation, St.Ritah Women Association applies different strategies including partnerships, community owned structures, incentive systems, knowledge management systems and documentation and information dissemination through radio for strengthening awareness among wider stakeholders on adaptation actions for climate smart interventions, climate change impacts on food security and natural resources in the District.
